How do I make a page like Jessica Galbreth's [link] I like the 'banner' and the way there is wordage links down either side and a place in the middle and the nice background. I don't want to use her art or colors or stuff like that but I do like the style of the page.

I 'viewed source' and it was fairly confusing and not much use. Also, there was a link to someone who supposedly created the FREE 'code' but his website is not working anymore.

Anyone know how to program this? I want a spiffy look to my website. All I know is basic HTML code though if it were explained to me and I could play with the whole code and such like I could understand the way it all works. I just can't save her whole website, you know? Plus I don't think she'd appreciate that

And I also liked the way it all fit on my regular style screen. I did not have to scroll side to side to see the whole thing, you know?






2008 is the Year Of The Frog. Conservationists worldwide are trying to spread the word of the trouble frogs are in so all year I pledge to keep this notice about frogs in my journal.


Frogs and other amphibians are endanger of becoming exstinct really fast. I get a lot of emails from animal and nature organizations and I got one just now talking about amphibians. "If amphibians disappear, what then? Lips' work has shown a cascade of effects in the ecosystem. Amphibians sit in the middle of the food web, so when frogs go, it affects both the things they eat and the things that eat them. Tadpoles eat algae and sediment in streams, so if there are no tadpoles, algae grow unchecked and sediment increases, leading to changes in water quality and aquatic insects. Adult frogs eat insects, so if there are no hungry frogs, some insect populations boom. And some snakes depend on frogs for food, so without their prey, those snakes may starve to death.

Amphibians also carry secrets of biomedicine that could be lost forever. Researchers at Vanderbilt University in Nashville have discovered anti-microbial substances in the skin of certain frogs that stopped HIV infection. The Australian red-eyed tree frog had the highest levels of such virus-blocking substances. "Theoretically, there could be some kind of cream developed that could protect against HIV transmission," says Louise Rollins-Smith, a microbiologist who participated in the study.

The other selfish reason for humans to take notice is that frogs and salamanders are telling us something, says Robin Moore, an amphibian specialist at Conservation International who is helping to coordinate the worldwide amphibian conservation plan. "Amphibians are sensitive to change, and may simply be the first to go. They are sounding an alarm, an early warning that the ecosystems in which they live are not healthy," he says. "We do not know what will be next to go—birds, mammals—or us?" "

Makes me want to place some bowls around the property for frogs to make tadpoles in. I think I'll do that. I did not realize it till just now, but the 'singing' I look forward to each Spring and Summer of the frogs and insects is longer and longer in coming and seems shorter and shorter in season.

I already have no more fireflies in my yard, what is next to die off? Frogs and turtles and crickets and other things?

Maybe it is time to bring back the goddess in a sense by all us women of all ages taking control and doing something positive for this world. If you really do have, as someone said, this desire to be a mom why can't you mother the Earth instead of poluting it with more people?

That is why I get so mad. I see all life as my brothers and sisters and when you humans mess with my family I get angry. If we all felt that way, the world wouldn't be so fucked up.
